Visitors have described St. Giles as a friendly, welcoming parish. Congregation-prepared refreshments are offered at coffee hour after church each Sunday in the Saint Mary’s College Faculty Lounge and many of our members regularly gather to enjoy coffee and conversation.
Each year, the church hosts a themed fundraising event, providing family-focused fellowship. Past events have included a crab feed, spaghetti feed, Oktoberfest, and an English harvest festival.
Monthly, we gather for potlucks in parishioners homes. This is a wonderful way of getting to know each other better outside of church and to spend time in deeper conversation than can often be done at coffee hour. Check the church bulletin for information about our upcoming potlucks.
Bible study provides community around a faith-centered theme. The Lenten Series each year is an opportunity to focus on a specific theme from the Bible or to discuss topical present-day issues in a biblical context. Held in homes, this series of evening meetings provides an opportunity to share our stories with each other and to thereby enhance our faith practices. Guests are always welcome.
