Saint Giles “Comfort Ministry”
St. Giles “Comfort Ministry” collects stuffed toy animals and donates them to the Contra Costa County Family Law and Juvenile Courts for young children in need of comfort while being processed through the court system. Last week, Peggy delivered 197 comfort critters to the Superior Court in Martinez, 25 to the Goodwill store in Rheem, and she set aside 21 for our upcoming Yard Sale. To date we have donation a grant total of 2,271 teddy bears and friends to the Court and others since the first recorded donation in 2004. Please bring your donations of plushy, fuzzy, cuddly, huggable animals (new or new condition) to any Sunday morning service. There is a special need for teddy bears. The toys are always presented at the Altar as part of the Gifts of the People at the Offertory.
