St. Giles is an inclusive, affirming parish.
All are welcome at our services.

9 a.m. Sunday Service:  Holy Eucharist (Rite II) Choral Service with The Saint Giles Singers.
Sunday School (using the "Godly Play" curriculum) is also at 9 a.m. during the school year.

Saint Giles is a parish without walls of our own, celebrating the Holy Eucharist in the beautiful chapel of
Saint Mary’s College of California. Saint Giles Parish exists to provide an Anglican spiritual community dedicated to nourishing individual ministry and witnessing to the ecumenical and universal dimensions of the Gospel. We provide community, pastoral care, education, and fine liturgy for our members, and we reach out in service and hospitality beyond our parish family.

Below is a calendar listing services and other events in the life of our parish.  Details about next Sunday's liturgy can be found by clicking on the link titled "This Sunday," in the left hand column of this page.  There you will find a listing of the Scripture readings appointed by the Revised Common Lectionary, hymns, service music, and musical offerings by the parish musicians.

Prayer for a Spirit of Reconciliation

Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
    where there is injury, pardon;
    where there is discord, union;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood as to understand;
    to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
(Attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi)

Diocesan Senior Sunday – May 20

Bishop Marc Andrus invites Diocese of California congregations to join him in celebrating the ministry of seniors during our first annual diocesan Senior Sunday. Honor the elderly in our communities, respect and embrace their accomplishments, and explore ways to enhance their quality of life on Sunday May 20. The month of May is Older Americans Month, celebrated nationally since 1963. This year’s theme is “Never Too Old to Play.”

Download this flyer with prayers, resources, and information to support seniors’ independence, safety, and self worth, and to encourage their continued intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual growth. The flyer will also be available at Saint Giles on Diocesan Senior Sunday, May 20.  How might you honor the elders in your life and your congregation? Set aside time to connect with older friends and family members. Invite seniors to church or a meal, take a walk or play a game of cards, volunteer your services or simply make a phone call to connect. Most importantly, reach out to honor and nourish the connection across generations.

Stuffed Toy "Comfort Ministry"

This a reminder about St. Giles Parish’s unique “Comfort Ministry,” which collects stuffed toy animals and donates them to the Contra Costa County Family Law and Juvenile Courts for young children in need of comfort while being processed through the court system. It has been awhile since a supply of stuffed toy animals has been delivered to the courts, and the menagerie needs replenishment! Be a part of our ongoing “Comfort Ministry” to the needful children in our communities. Please bring your donations of plushy, fuzzy, cuddly, huggable animals (new or previously gently cherished in good, clean condition) to any Sunday morning service. The toys will be presented at the Altar as part of the Gifts of the People at the Offertory.

Saint Giles Parish is currently in the search process for a priest-in-charge.

The Rev. Teresa (Teri) Gilmore served as Interim Rector of Saint Giles Parish from August 2010 through October 2011.  She is now serving as a Chaplain at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, San Rafael.  Transcripts of Mother Teri's sermons during her pastoral ministry in Saint Giles Parish can be found here.
